A Trip and Many Experiences !!

Finally it was 4th April! The day I was waiting for. That day was the starting day of trip to Delhi, Agra and Jaipur with my parents, uncles, aunts and cousins. It was a trip of 19 members. We were all set to go!!!

On 4th early morning we started. We reached Bangalore airport by hired bus at 9. 15Am. Our flight was at 1.15am was a. When we boarded the flight, the air-hostesses gave instructions. It was my first flight and I was excited. We reached Delhi airport at 4.15pm. Thank you Indigo for a safe flight. From airport we went to lodge by taxi.

We freshened up ourselves and planned to visit Akshardham temple to see the laser show. From lodge we reached metro station by cycle rickshaw. The cycle rickshaw ride was a new experience for me. The difference that I could find between Delhi metro train and Bangalore was Delhi metro trains are very busy and people of Delhi are much dependent on metro trains. We traveled by metro to Akshardhama temple but unfortunately it was closed as Monday is holiday in Delhi and we did not know it. We missed the laser show. Then again we came back to lodge.

Next day 5th April we had a nice time in Delhi. First we visited ‘Qutub Minar’. Qutub Minar is a tower built by Qutub-ud- Din Aibak.  Qutub-ud- Din Aibak was a ruler of Delhi and Minar means tower. It is the second highest tower of India. There is an iron pillar in front of it which will never get rust. There are many other monuments to see around. After that we visited The ‘Lotus temple’ also known as Bahai temple. It is a prayer hall for everyone without any discrimination of caste, creed and religion. Then we visited ‘India Gate’. There we also saw ‘Rajpath’ and ‘Rashtrapati Bhavan’. Next we visited ‘Rajghat’ the Samadhi of Bapu [Mahatma Gandhi]. We all sang his favorite bhajan “RAGHUPATI RAGAV RAJA RAM .........”  From there we visited the ‘Akshardham temple’. It’s huge and beautiful place to see and explore. Then we left to Mathura. It was a journey of some 250 Kms.  Mathura is the birth place of Lord Krishna.

Next day that was 6th of April, for breakfast we had paratha with fresh curd and tasty pickle.  I loved it! We visited temples of Krishna, one of them was ISKAN. I tried Mathura’s famous drink yummy Lassi. In Mathura you can enjoy delicious milk sweets like Peda , Malai wafer etc. The ride of Mathura’s local mode of transportation TAM-TAM [bike rickshaw] was fun. I must tell you that Mathura is far away from cleanliness.

From Mathura we left to Agra on the same day. As soon as we reached Agra we visited the monument of love, the “Taj Mahal”. It is a monument of white marble with “Indo Arabic” architecture, built by Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife Mumtaz. It is huge, beautiful and a symmetrical monument. It also falls under the wonders of the world. After exploring the place we reached to the lodge.

Next morning on 7th April again we visited Taj Mahal. We took a tanga ride, it was amazing. Then we visited the ‘Agra fort’. It is big and beautiful. We can see Taj Mahal from there.
Evening we left for Jaipur. On the way we visited Fatehpur Sikri. There we saw ‘Juma Masjid’ and ‘Tomb of Sheik Salim Chisti’. It was built when Akbar was ruling. We can see mixture of Hindu and Mughal architecture of monuments here. Marble carving is also very beautiful here.
Next day in Jaipur we visited “Jantar Mantar”. It is a monument with collection of astronomical instruments built by Rajput king Sawai jai Singh. There is the world’s biggest Sun dial.  I came to know how the ancient people were identifying time. I explored many things there.  We visited handicrafts and leather shop. We also saw Jaipur palace. It is very big. Because of time shortage we couldn’t explore many places, so I said  good bye to Jaipur with promise that I will visit again.

During this trip I visited many new places and experienced new things, different food and culture. I enjoyed this whole trip very much. I wish to visit many more different places like this in future also.
