A Trek With Our Dog!

Image
Our house lies in the shade of a small hill with a thick forest of western Ghats. I have heard a lot about this forest from my parents and grandparents. I often hear the songs of the unique birds which come from the forest. Sometimes I also see and hear some animals like deer, wild-boar, porcupine and many more. In summer we hear the roar of tigers from the hill. T his hill divides our place [Melinkoppa,   Shimoga] from another village   ‘Garaga’. We had planned a trek in this forest on 25 th of December. It was a group of 25 members, plus one, our dog ‘Sunny’. I will give a brief introduction about him. We have 6 dogs in our house, Sunny is one of the friendliest of them. He followed us to and fro Melinkoppa. We tried a lot to stop him from following us but it was of vain. Everyone pampered Sunny a bit too much. I hope he had a good time and there is no doubt in my enjoyment too. This forest is full of steep slopes, tall and big trees, birds and ma...

The Big Chase !!

( Chennai Super Kings v/s Kolkata Knight Riders) I always wonder how the West Indian players score that big. It was the second match for both CSK and KKR on 10 April. Both the teams were in a good form. CSK won the toss and as I had expected they chose to field first. CSK fielded really well, Suresh Raina’s direct hit and Bravo’s diving catch were amazing. Watson picked up 4 wickets. There was a quick loss of wickets in the first 12 overs. I thought it would be an easy chase of 150 or 165 for CSK.   The turning point of the match was when the big man Andre Russel came in. OMG!!! he hit 11 sixes and one among them went out of the stadium. The final score was 202 after 20 overs. This is why I always wonder how the West Indian players score that big. It was a big challenge for CSK. CSK‘s openers stared well with clean and big shots. After Raina’s wicket the runs slowed down. But not for long, Sam Billings started up again. His 50 was a great contributi...

The Yellow Back in Action!

(Mumbai Indians V/S Chennai Super Kings, April 7th 2018 ) What I was waiting for has already started. Yes it is IPL. The most interesting thing is that the match was between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings and I’m a diehard fan of CSK. Do you why? Because I’m a big fan of MS Dhoni   and Suresh Raina. I was much tensed because MI is also one of the strongest teams of IPL. When CSK won the toss and chose to field first, it gave me a bit relief .  The first over was bowled by Deepak Chahar I was happy as Mumbai couldn’t do more in the first 2 overs. Then Deepak came up with excellent piece of bowling in the third over and took the wicket of Lewis. Lewis and Rohit Sharma couldn’t contribute more. Then came the partnership of Suryakumar yadhav and Ishan kishan   with clean and brilliant shots. But not for long , Harbajan got Suryakumar out.then came one of my favorite hitters Hardhik Pandya. After Ishan Kishan the elder one , Krunal Pandya ...
